Your location stays city-level.

When you join the waitlist or submit research feedback, we collect the details you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, and survey responses.

BetaMove uses browser location when you select “See climbers near you” or provide location while joining the waitlist. Your coordinates are sent to Google Geocoding to determine a city-level Place ID and are not stored in BetaMove’s Firestore database.

For nearby counts, we store a one-way hash of a random browser identifier, the Google Place ID for your last detected city, and first- and last-seen timestamps. A waitlist submission from the same browser reuses this identifier so it is not counted twice.

Waitlist records store the city-level Place ID alongside the information you submit. Approximate city, region, and country labels may also come from an IP-based location lookup.

The browser identifier cookie lasts for up to one year. Clearing cookies, using private browsing, or using another browser creates a separate anonymous identifier.

We use Google Analytics to understand site usage. We do not send waitlist names, email addresses, survey responses, or nearby-climber location details to Google Analytics.

We use service providers including Google Cloud, Firebase, Google Geocoding, IP-based location services, and Resend to operate the website, store submissions, determine city-level areas, and send email.

We use collected information to operate and improve BetaMove, provide requested features, communicate about beta access, understand product interest, protect the service, and meet legal obligations.
